Lee Gordon McKillop was born on 4 August 1968 and lived in Southport, Lancashire above a pub until his parents separated and he moved to Blackburn, Lancashire. He went to Birkdale County Junior School and Stanley High School. After leaving school Lee Mack worked in a bingo hall and as a stableboy where duties included looking after Red Rum. After that, Mack became a blue coat at Pontin's at Yarmouth.
